David Carmichael is the minister of Abbeygreen, a reformed and evangelical church, in the village of Lesmahagow in Scotland, where he has faithfully exercised a much respected and productive expository ministry for 30 years. In the life of this church he has ensured that prayer and expository preaching hold central place. The congregation has enjoyed long years of spiritual stability: seeing regular conversions and knowing consistent blessing from the hand of God. He exercises a national and international conference, preaching ministry that has taken him all over the United Kingdom as well as in to Europe, the USA and, indeed, in 2011 brought him to South Africa, for the first time. He is also a much respected Christian leader in Scotland where he is Chairman of the Scottish Reformed Conference (Scotland’s premier, reformed and interdenominational, preaching conference). He also serves as Chairman of the Scottish Council of UFM Worldwide (a respected and reformed, missionary organisation) and as Chairman of Scotland’s largest reformed ministers fraternal.
He has been married to Fiona for 34 years, she is the team leader of the support workers in a local primary school, and has two grown-up daughters. Both are High School teachers: Alison, who is married, teaches Music, while Suzanne, his youngest daughter, teaches Modern Languages (Spanish and French).
